Well, I said Morgetron would offer an interview about me. And she came through in spades. This was posted on Friday, but this weekend was spent buried up to my next in music that I was trying to organize so it'll have to be now.

Does this mean I'm famous yet?

See? Told ya I wasn't dead!
Okay, here we go, new post. Lots of stuff's been happening, which is in part why I've been so crazy quiet. Let's address the issues.
Since we last sat down and talked, I changed jobs again. This new place is pretty awesome, but it's actually busy (most of the time) so it's been kicking my ass.
In the time that transpired between jobs, I took a week to just sit on my ass and do nothing. I played video games. I watched movies. I went golfing for the first time. All in all it was hella enjoyable.
Oh, and I bought a new computer.
I don't have pics (I'll work on that) but she's a beauty. Dell Inspiron 351 AMD Athlon Core Duo 2.80 Ghz with 2 gigs memory. Not like ... top of the line, but she's suiting me rather nicely after Deborah became old, bitter, and ready for retirement to the occasional coffee shop.
I've named her Ghita. And to top her off, I put THIS on top to sweeten the deal.
So all of this week (when I wasn't working) was mostly spent getting everything set just how I like it. Some minor hiccups aside (my music library has been added about 5 times now, because I keep messing up some setting and throwing it all out of whack) I'm about in business.
Which means it's time for writing.
Screnzy's over. I'm getting settled. And the spring is slowly starting to give way to summer so it's time to throw down and do what needs to be done. CDE Project is calling me. Too much potential not to explore it. And the countdown to clear my project queue (one new book, two edits) by November is creeping up faster than I'm entirely comfortable with.
In other news, I have down time here at work each morning before FedEx arrives. I'm not sure if that means that I'll post more, but I certainly have a nice slice of time carved out for it, if I choose to exploit it.
Oh yeah, Morgetron interviewed me last night because she's silly and I like to talk. When it's up, I'll link it. But people should be checking her out anyway. I mean daaaaaayum, if only all teachers were so stylin'.

I could have sworn it stood for Eustation.

Anyway, apparently this award was first concocted by Kayla at Project Mommy, and Morgetron was awarded it by The Dutch Files. I haven't read either of these, but I'll trust Morgy. Anyway, the award is supposedly some sort of viral thing I'm supposed to award to other people, but I'm going to hold onto it to give out at a later date.
Because such an idea is excellent.

The music, my ears, they bleed!
I have some pretty pwn headphones that were given to me by someone I barely know because she was the nicest person I've met in ... oh ... three years? And they're hella loud. Like when my ipod is at full volume I can feel vibration from bass response ... in my brain.
It's not good for me. Which is why I'm listening to The Stranglers at full volume while I think about haiku. Punk, poetry, and pain. Perfectly paired. (that's an alliteration score, yo!)
So I read through all of Morgetron's blog today, because I was hella bored. No offense to her, but her blog is like a media nightmare that threatens to make my poor overburdened Deborah (my laptop) want to have a quiet anyeurism and give up the machine ghost for good. Since I can't afford to order a new technocompanion, I refused her entreaties to sign the DNR. She can have a tube or two coming out of her. She's honestly used to it.
I'm thinking that my blog needs a bit more whimsy. Unfortunately, I'm not the most whimsical person. I really am not. I'm overly serious. I was a serious child. People were playing [childhood game 6] while I was mediating conflicts between other children. Now I just think deep thoughts about aggressive haiku (they exist, ask me to show you my limited collection of real terrors if you're very very hard to offend).
So whimsy isn't for me. It's like [cliche about something that is only funny in that trite overused smirk kind of way]. But I want something else. Because let's face it, folks, I'm not exactly running the most exciting show on earth over here. I want content, something meaningful, but ... I dunno. I want to write silly stuff too. Where's the difference? How do I draw that line?
Why do I have to make serious business out of not being serious?
This is why I am the way I am.
I'll think of something amusing tomorrow. Promise. I added Technorati thingamajigger to my bloggityblagbar (not alliterative, just awesome) on the right of there. ======>
Just so ... y'know, if you use technorati.
The editing bar continues to climb due to the efforts of my inner sense of "GET YOUR ASS TO WORK" and the indespensible efforts of Kristen (who I would link to if I thought (a) she had something to link to and (b) she wouldn't kill me for doing so).
I could actually have maybe possibly perhaps y'never know been done on my deadline despite my three week break but I have something in the pipes that will keep me busy for a good week. Like ... all my free time is gone. It's a neat opportunity, though, mostly because I'm a sucker for free stuff and I like to talk and there's the smidgen of a chance that I'll stumble into some more exposure and we all know that I <3 exposure (if the rock star motif and trying to be a published author and blog writer and whatnot weren't clues). More on that when I find out some more information and am for sure on it and all.
Tomorrow is Friday, and I could not be more thrilled. Also, apparently my blog comes up if you search for various permutations of Princess Peach/Bowser porn in google. Due, no doubt, to my previous post about T3H S3XX0RZ IN MAH M4R1()!1.
This won't help, will it?
Out with a punk haiku!
I rebel only
because I want your hatred
(secret irony)
Oh, my sweet Punk, how irrelevant you've become! Don't you know that hatred is so 80s/90s and we've moved on to 'I hate me and hate me too but plz secretly love me kthxbai'. It's called emo. Look it up. Google it!

I Met A Real Blogger!
Today I went and met Morgetron, for the exchanging of my prize that I won in her contest for my rescued copy of Machiavelli's The Prince. Good trade, so far as I was concerned. Morgetron herself was wonderfully delightful and patient with my shy and introverted ass. I actually started to say something meaningful towards the end, too! That's always a plus.
It's strange seeing someone I only knew as an abstraction on my screen, even if her blog is chock full of pictures and videos and whatnot. It seems very unreal to take this concept that you have and turn it into a living breathing person. Not bad, but kind of unsettling in that good gestalt-altering sort of way.
Anywho, this is just a check in to say that I'm not sure what's going on in the next little while, but I'm hoping to get back to work soon on editing, and hopefully blogging semi-regularly. A couple of topics I have slated to be writing sometime in the next week or so, just to make sure that I do:
- on wanting to indulge in poet-thought
- on schooling, degrees, and self-education
- blogging, two months later
See you on the other side.
